On Tuesday, June 4, 2013, leaders in culture and business came together for a gorgeous summer evening on the waterfront to support The Battery Conservancy, rebuilding the 25-acre park at the tip of Manhattan. Leading the program for the 18th Annual Battery Gala were Warrie Price, the Battery Conservancy President; Bill Rudin, CEO, Rudin Management Company and Chairman of the Battery Conservancy; and Veronica White, New York City Parks and Recreation Commissioner. 450 guests enjoyed cocktails in the Battery Bosque surrounded by spring blooms. They were then seated for dinner in an elegant custom tent located along the water's edge with perfect views of NY Harbor and the Statue of Liberty.

After a delicious meal, two medals were awarded: Frank J. Bisignano, the Chief Executive Officer of First Data and board member of the Conservancy, was honored with the Battery Medal for Corporate Leadership; and Stephen Doyle, the Creative Director of Doyle Partners, was honored with the Battery Medal for Design Excellence. At the end of the night, all of the guests were treated to a son et lumiere show, a wonderful sneak peek of the Sea Glass carousel, an aquatic-themed ride expected to open this coming fall.

Last week, Einstein Emerging Leaders (EEL) held their second annual Gala at the Dream Downtown Hotel hosted by Man Repeller's Leandra Medine. EEL debuted their new charitable campaign, My Einstein, to New York City's brightest young philanthropists and influencers. Proceeds from the event went towards funding urgent needs of the Children's Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center (CERC) at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Music was spun by DJ Louis XIV, while host Leandra and her husband were cozy all night, whispering into each other's ears and laughing. Actors Chaske Spencer, Robert Gorrie, and comedian Godfrey all came with their girlfriends. Event chair Danielle Segal and husband Jon mingled with co-event chair Joanna Steinberg. Former NY Giant Tiki Barber and his wife Traci Lynn Johnson attended together for the second year in a row.

The second annual EEL Gala introduced attendees to My Einstein—the debut campaign that allows donors to learn about and support the areas of research they are most passionate about. The campaign also allowed participants to share their personal My Einstein story with the wider community via EEL's social media platforms.
