Susan Freedman, Mark Lebow, Patti Harris, David Rockefeller Jr., Susan Rockefeller, and Toby Usnik at The Municipal Art Society's annual benefit gala.
The Municipal Art Society held its annual benefit gala last Thursday night at Grand Central Terminal in the Main Waiting Room (right on 42nd Street). They honored the Rockefeller Foundation on its Centennial Anniversary. Honorees were David Rockefeller Jr., grandson and great-grandson of the founders, John D. Rockefeller Sr. and Jr.; and Judith Rodin, the President of the Foundation today. Mr. Rockefeller is also the current chairman of the Foundation.
David Rockefeller Jr.
Vin Cipolla, President of the Municipal Art Society, remarked in his welcoming address that this year is also the 100th Anniversary of the Grand Central Terminal itself. He didn't say this but I was reminded elsewhere that this is the 100th Anniversary of the Federal Reserve, started by Paul Warburg and associates; and also the year of the death of J. Pierpont Morgan, a one-man Fed himself, not to mention his commitment to art and architecture.
