Raynham Hall Museum held its annual Garden Party at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Sherrell J. Aston late last month. Over 100 happy people enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at "Land's End", the Astons' beautiful Lattingtown country home, which was remodeled by Walker and Gillette in 1926. The magnificent 30-acre property includes exquisite historic gardens designed by the Frederick Law Olmstead firm, overlooking Long Island Sound. The property's pool house was designed three decades ago by Raynham Hall Museum's Board President, John Collins. |
Guests were invited to stroll the gardens, enjoying one of the most extraordinary views on the North Shore. Michael Goudket, Kirk Larsen, William Jonas and Frank Olt generously offered their artwork in a silent auction to benefit the Raynham Hall Museum, Oyster Bay's historic house and garden, dating from the Colonial and Victorian eras and home to Robert Townsend, a spy for General George Washington. The delicious catering was provided by GREENPEAR Catering. |

The Southampton Town Shelter was about to close its doors in 2010, when a group of local caring citizens stepped in and created the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation. There were 225 animals housed at the time and about to be dispersed to other shelters. There would be no place for the homeless strays or lost pets to go. This dedicated group created an award winning shelter and non-profit known nationwide for its innovative programs. For more information please visit www.southamptonanimalshelter.com. |
