Last Wednesday night Sharon and Ambassador John Loeb hosted a dinner to celebrate the very popular exhibition of Ambassador Loeb's collection of paintings by Scandinavian artists from the early 19th to the early 20th century. "Danish Paintings from the Golden Age to the Modern Breakthrough: Selections from the Collection of Ambassador John L. Loeb Jr." traces the developments in Danish art from the early 19th through the early 20th centuries — a period that saw the emergence of a distinctive national approach to painting in Denmark where Ambassador Loeb served under the Reagan Administration.

The exhibit has been extended through the end of the week including Saturday. Hours are 12 to 6 p.m. (Wednesday until 7). Admission is free. Scandinavia House is located at 58 Park Avenue at 38th Street.

Also last Tuesday at Wollman Rink in Central Park, the Playground Partners of the Women's Committee of the Central Park Conservancy held its Annual Skating Party. Mary Beth Adelson, Sarah Britton, Melissa Vlak served as the evening's Co-Chairmen.

As always, this is a free event as a thank you to the park's supporters. All donations received go to an after school hockey program at LaskerRink, an outdoor, twin rink facility, located in the north end of Central Park.

(MANALAPAN, Fla) With a long history of giving to the Hanley Center Foundation, Manalapan resident Yardley Manfuso recently opened her beautiful home in La Coquille to host a reception for new and old friends of the substance abuse treatment center. Guest of honor was Mike Hanley, son of Hanley Center founders Mary Jane and Jack Hanley, who opened the doors to Hanley Center nearly 30 years ago as a center of excellence in substance abuse and addiction treatment. The event offered guests a chance to hear about plans for the treatment provider's continued growth in Palm Beach County.

"My parents identified the need for access to quality substance abuse treatment locally, and with the community's full support, founded Hanley Center in West Palm Beach," said Mike Hanley, Hanley and Caron Treatment Centers Florida board member and board member of the Hanley Center Foundation. "But the need for world-class treatment right here in Palm Beach County continues to grow. I am truly proud to continue my parents' legacy and look forward to Hanley Center's expansion during the coming years as a provider of quality treatment to all ages suffering from the disease of addiction."
