| Last Monday night at Capitale on 130 Bowery, Symphony Space hosted its Spring gala, Fiddler at 50, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Fiddler on the Roof. They honored Sheldon Harnick, the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning lyricist behind the iconic musical. Symphony Space’s Gala was co-chaired by Lenore Davis and Amy Wilson. Honorary co-chairs for the evening were Mary Rodgers Guettel, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Harold Prince, and Stephen Sondheim. The evening was hosted by BD Wong. Performers included Kate Baldwin, Christina Bianco, Stephanie J. Block, Len Cariou, La Tanya Hall, Clint Holmes, Tovah Feldshuh, Linda Lavin, Megan McGinnis, Trevor McQueen, Jane Monheit, Christine Pedi, Andrew Rannells, Tori Scott and Leslie Uggams. Violinist Christian Hebel performed the role of The Fiddler. |

| A special presentation to Mr. Harnick was made by Lynn Ahrens. The concert performance of Fiddler at 50 was produced and directed by Jim Caruso and John McDaniel. Also in attendance was Joanna Merlin, who originated the role of Tzeitel on Broadway, as well as Jenny Lyn Bader, Barbara Barrie, Carmen de Lavallade, Fyvush Finkel, Adam Gopnik, Daniel Gortler, Rachael Harris, Holly Hunter, Chip Kidd, Tania León, Sonia Manzano, Michael Mayer, J.D. | The event also featured a display of sketches and an original set model from the 1964 original Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof, on loan from the family of set designer Boris Aronson and Lisa Jalowetz. Additionally, an Al Hirschfeld etching of Zero Mostel as Tevye was on view, and auctioned off, courtesy of the Al Hirschfeld Foundation. The silent auction featured unique experiences with Symphony Space artists and friends including Alec Baldwin, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Neil Gaiman, John Lithgow, Leonard Nimoy, Estelle Parsons, Adam Platt, Karen Russell, and Gary Shteyngart. |

| Symphony Space traces its beginnings to a free marathon concert, Wall to Wall Bach, held in 1978 and organized by co-founders Isaiah Sheffer and Allan Miller. The music marathon then drew thousands of visitors and has since become one of the organization’s signature events. Today Symphony Space presents more than 600 events each season, including music, dance, theater, film, and literary readings. Some of its best known programs include Selected Shorts, a reading of short stories by stars of stage and screen, and one of the most popular series on public radio; the Thalia Film Club, a trendy film club hosted by Marshall Fine featuring pre-release screenings and behind-the-scenes conversations with film stars; Just Kidding, one of the most talked about family entertainment series around town; and, more recently, The Music of Now, presenting an eclectic range of music in all styles and sensibilities, focusing on emerging artists and unusual work. | On Tuesday, April 8th, more than 350 guests came out to support the American Heart Association at their kickoff event for the 18th Annual Heart of the Hamptons Ball. The kick off, held at Tao Downtown Lounge and put together by the Heart of the Hamptons committee members Paola Bacchini , Andrea Tese, Nur Khan, Peter Davis, Paul Goldstein, Rocco Ancarola and Cristina Civetta. Surrounded by amazing Geisha’s guests in attendance were able to listen to survivors Rocco Ancarola, Arnie Rosenshein and Cristina Civetta share their stories of survival. They urged the crowd to get checked and pay attention to their heart health. |

| This year’s Heart of the Hamptons Ball will be taking place on Saturday, June 28th at the Hayground School in Bridgehampton. This year, the Heart Ball will honor Dr. Leonard Girardi, Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Attending Cardiothoracic Surgeon, New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center with the Distinguished Service Award and the Distinguished Leadership award will be presented to Samuel L. Stanley Jr., MD, President, Stony Brook University. This year’s Event Co-Chairs are Dr. Karl & Krista Krieger. Heart Heros Arnie Rosenshein and Cristina Civetta will share their stories of survival. Rita Cosby, Emmy-Winning TV and Radio Host will serve as Master of Ceremonies. |

| Last Wednesday evening (April 23rd) at Scully & Scully they celebrated Park Avenue’s colorful tulips and the arrival of spring. Each year, Michael Scully, President of the luxury gift and fine furniture store, hosts what has become known as “The Tulip Party” to celebrate the work of The Fund for Park Avenue and those who contribute to it. All of the planting and maintenance that takes place on the Park Avenue malls is made possible by contributions The Fund receives from the community. Michael Scully and Barbara McLaughlin, The Fund President, welcomed guests as they arrived. The evening featured Park Avenue author, Holly Peterson, signing her just published second novel, The Idea of Him. A special highlight was a first taste of palate-pleasing Black River Caviar. The caviar received a top “Green” rating from the Marine Conservation Institute. So, no wonder people were reaching for more. |

| In keeping with tradition, there were five creative tabletops using selections from Scully & Scully’s extraordinary collection. The themes ranged from Mary Davidson’s sophisticated celebration of caviar to Kamie Lightburn and Mary Van Pelt’s tables, a salute to spring flowers. Team Swifty’s “East India” tea table was complete with two and a half foot tall silver schooner. Holly Peterson’s table set for the main characters in her novel. Music from Alex Donner filled the room and guests left with a tulip cookie party favor from Eleni’s cookies. |

| On Thursday, April 24, 2014, The New York Botanical Garden hosted the annual Antique Garden Furniture Fair Preview Party and Collectors’ Plant Sale. The exclusive Preview Party and Collectors’ Plant Sale took place in the Conservatory Tent, adjacent to the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory at The New York Botanical Garden. More than 500 guests from the philanthropic, interior and landscape design, architecture and art worlds gathered to view and purchase unique and highly coveted statues, urns and garden benches by more than 30 of the nation’s leading exhibitors before the Fair officially opened to the public on Friday, April 25. |

| Named the “Best in America” by the experts and long held as the most renowned stage for authentic garden antiques and rarities, the Fair returned to its roots with a central theme of “Antiques for the Garden and the Garden Room”, showcasing fascinating antique furnishings and objects, an expansive collection of ornament, decorative art, and timeless furniture for the home and garden. The evening included a silent auction of one-of-a-kind trees, garden décor, an exclusive boutique shopping experience, and other select items. | The Preview Party and Collectors’ Plant Sale raised more than $400,000 and was underwritten in part by Adam R. Rose and Peter R. | The Young New Yorkers for the Fight Against Parkinson’s committee of the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation (PDF) held its seventh annual Celebrate Spring New York at LAVO. Over 300 supporters of the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation and Young New Yorkers raised more than $90,000. Proceeds from the evening will benefit PDF’s Côté Clinical Genetics Initiative, which supports research to identify and understand the role of genetic markers in Parkinson’s disease. G. | Celebrate Spring New York was founded by G. Pennington Egbert III, his sister Missy Egbert Sheehan and their close friend Georgina B. Schaeffer whose fathers both lived with Parkinson’s disease. They joined together to create the Young New Yorkers for the Fight Against Parkinson’s committee, a group of nearly 100 New Yorkers dedicated to advancing a cure for Parkinson’s. Each year the committee hosts Celebrate Spring New York, which has raised nearly $600,000 since its inception. The event began at 8:00 PM with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and dancing with music provided by DJ Brenda Black. |
