This past Sunday night at The Four Seasons Restaurant, the Cancer Research Institute hosted their 32nd annual "Through the Kitchen" benefit. More than 260 attended and several hundred thousand was raised including more than $400,000 raised by Jamie Niven at auction. |
Last Thursday night at Cipriani 42nd Street, City Harvest hosted their 20th annual "Evening of Practical Magic." This is a highly successful event for a highly successful organization that "wastes not, wants not," and provides millions of pounds of food to New Yorkers in need every year. More than 500 attended and they raised more than $2 million. They honored City Harvest board member Benjamin Bram, Managing Member of Watermill Trading LLC for his ongoing commitment to helping City Harvest feed New York's hungry. Also they honored chef/restaurateur Eric Ripert, Maguy Le Coze and the Team of Le Bernardin for their work in strengthening the impact of City Harvest throughout the city. |
Last Friday night, Variety magazine honored Iman, Claire Danes and Idina Menzel among others for its "Power of Women: New York" issue. The women, along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Susan Sarandon and Nancy Dubac, President of A&E, were all honored for their charitable work. The luncheon was held at Cipriani Midtown. It was hosted by Zac Posen, and featured Katie Couric, Gayle King, Josh Groban, paying tribute. |
Last Tuesday night, a week, at the Cheim & Read Gallery, Alexandra Lebenthal, Jay Diamond, and Howard and Katia Read hosted a kickoff for the 11th annual Beach Ball for the Boys and Girls Club of the Bellport (L.I.) area. The proceeds from this annual party help offset the Club's operating expenses in providing after-school summer and community-centered programs to 700 youngsters in need from the Bellport area and surrounding South Shore communities. This year's ball will take place on Saturday, June 21 at the bayfront home of Alexandra and Jay. Bellport's own Charlie Rose will emcee.
