Gala Chairs at the New Yorkers For Children 2013 Fall Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street.

This past Monday, the 16th of September, John Demsey and daughter Marie Helene Demsey hosted a dazzling cocktail party for over 200 guests at their magnificent art-filled townhouse on the Upper East Side to honor Casita Maria’s upcoming “2012 Fiesta” Gala.

Gala Co-ChairsAlina Cho, and Cornelia Guest, along with the Dinner Chairmen Jacqueline WeldDrake, Aileen Mehle, and Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia were all in attendance to greet Casita Maria’s supporters.

Guests were able to enjoy John Demsey’s collection of artwork — which included an extensive collection from photographers such as: Richard Avedon, Robert Maxwell, Albert Watson as well as other modern masters. Social photographer Patrick McMullan’s work is also showcased on the walls of the residence.

Mark your calendar for the annual “2013 Fiesta” gala benefiting the Casita Maria Center for Arts & Education at The Mandarin Oriental October 22nd. This year’s honorees are John Demsey, France Chrétien Desmarais, and Eddie Palmieri. The 2013 Honorary Jr. Chairmen, the “Pachanga” chairs will be Jane Bloomingdale de Cisneros and Henrique Cisneros. As has become the tradition, Jacqueline Weld Drake, Aileen Mehle, and Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia again serve as the Dinner Chairmen. Cocktails begin at 7:30 PM followed by dinner and dancing to the music of The Bob Hardwick Sound.

This past Tuesday night at Cipriani 42nd Street, the New Yorkers For Children hosted its 14th annual Fall Benefit attended by 600 guests. This was a very glamorous affair and it also raised more than $1 million for NYFC. In its 17 years, NYFC has raised and given away more than $50 million to assist children in Foster Care to obtaining a good education along with the moral support to achieve their goals.
