| World of Children Award hosted their 16th Annual Awards Ceremony on Thursday, November 7th at 583 Park Avenue (at East 63rd St). The event attracted nearly 500 guests and raised $800,000. World of Children Award, often referred to as the Nobel Prize for child advocates, sets the gold standard for child advocacy by providing funding and recognition for the most effective change-makers for children worldwide. In its 15 year history, World of Children Award has invested $5 million in programs led by 95 honorees serving vulnerable children in 140 countries. |

Triveni Acharya received the 2013 Humanitarian Award for transforming the lives of victims of child trafficking by co-founding Rescue Foundation. Susie Krabacher received the Alumni Award for her organization, Mercy & Sharing that provides care and education to children in Haiti. The 2013 World of Children Youth Awards went to Chaeli Mycroft for her work with children with disabilities as part of the Chaeli Campaign and Sarah Cronk for the Sparkle Effect which has created inclusive cheerleading and dance teams across the country. |

| The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation celebrated 26 years of "empowering research for productive lives" by honoring seven extraordinary scientists at its annual National Awards Dinner at the Pierre Hotel on October 25. In addition to the prizes for scientists, the Foundation presented the fifth annual Productive Lives Awards for extraordinary contributions toward therapy and recovery from mental illness. The awards went to Bruce Cohen, Producer of Silver Linings Playbook, and Rodolpho Carenuto, President of SAP Americas, recognizing their efforts, each within their respective professions, to help those with mental illness live more fulfilling and productive lives. |

| The Foundation awards the largest group of annual prizes for outstanding mental health research achievements and they have come to be regarded as among the highest honors possible for leading scientists in the field," said Jeffrey Borenstein, M.D., Foundation President and CEO.
