| Last Thursday New York City Center held its annual gala entitled A BED AND A CHAIR: A New York Love Affair. Cocktails at City Center were followed by a performance of the new Stephen Sondheim/Wynton Marsalis show, A Bed and A Chair: A New York Love Affair, starring Bernadette Peters, Norm Lewis, Jeremy Jordan and Cyrille Aimée and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. 470 people attended the post-show dinner at The Plaza, and $1,825,000 was raised. The evening honored City Center’s outgoing Board Chairman, Raymond A. Lamontagne. Gala Chairs were Bobbie and Lew Frankfort, Patricia and Jesse Lovejoy, Perry and Marty Granoff, Stacey and Eric Mindich, and Lisa and Richard Witten. | NYU Langone Medical Center’s Musculoskeletal Ball raised more than $2 million at its annual fundraiser held on November 12, 2013 at the American Museum of Natural History in Manhattan. The event honored Frank Schwab, MD, chief, Spinal Deformity, Hospital for Joint Diseases at NYU Langone (HJD), and Barbara G. Novick, vice chairman of BlackRock, and was chaired by Gary D. Cohn, president and COO of Goldman Sachs, NYU Langone trustee, and chair of the Musculoskeletal Advisory Board. Each year the eventraises funds to help the medical center improve the quality of life for people with musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders by advancing research and clinical care. Additionally, contributions enable NYU Langone’s Hospital for Joint Diseases (HJD), the Center for Musculoskeletal Care (CMC), and Rusk Rehabilitation to continue the medical center’s vital role as an international leader in orthopaedics, rheumatology, and rehabilitation medicine. The medical center again received top 10 rankings in these specialty areas on the 2013-2014 U.S. News & World Report’s annual survey of “Best Hospitals” in America. |

Delaney andNYWF Board Member Diana Taylor were united with leaders in the worlds of fashion, finance and philanthropy under a shared mission to improve the lives of women and families in New York City. | Anne E. Delaney welcomed guests to the annual fall gala on behalf of The New York Women’s Foundation. Diana Taylor then took the stage to present the first award of the evening to fashion designer Carolina Herrera for her philanthropic endeavors and entrepreneurship in the fashion industry and beyond for over three decades. Herrera graciously accepted the award, calling it a great honor to support NYWF and its mission to empower women and provide them with the tools needed to succeed. Taylor then returned to the stage to deliver a special proclamation to the New York Women’s Foundation on behalf of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. |

| Following an elegant dinner service, Ana L. Oliveira took the stage to welcome young poet Bre’Ann Newsome, a participant of NYWF grantee partner Girls Write Now. Bre’Ann shared an inspiring poem she authored through Girls Write Now’s program, which is supported by NYWF and the Ford Foundation. Together, Oliviera and Newsome presented Ford Foundation President Darren Walker with an award honoring the Ford Foundation for their significant contributions to the New York philanthropic arena. Anu Bhagwati, Executive Director & Co-Founder of Service Women’s Action Network, another of NYWF’s grantee partners, then presented the final award of the evening to Morgan Stanley Chief Financial Officer Ruth Porat, who accepted the award honoring Morgan Stanley for their two decades of philanthropic leadership and support of The New York Women’s Foundation. |

| Over the past twenty-six years, the NYWF has raised and invested some $33 million to over 280 women-led, nonprofit organizations, improving the lives of 5.4 million women and girls in New York City; 81% of those nonprofits that have received NYWF investment are successful and still thriving today. | Christodora held its annual Christodora Campfire Dinner and Auction on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at the JW Marriott Essex House on Central Park South. The evening featured a sit-down dinner with multiple speakers, as well as a silent and live auction. The evening generated over $275,000 of proceeds that will benefit Christodora's environmental and leadership programs. Following a brief cocktail hour in the gilded Grand Salon, Christodora's Executive Director Judith Rivkin greeted 300+ guests over dinner, introducing several Christodora students who shared their personal and inspiring stories about the organization. |

| During dinner, Pamela Manice, currently on Christodora's Board of Directors, presented Christodora Alumni Aaliyah Bell and Alyssa Strykers, with the evening's honoree awards. Each young recipient shared how their own unique Christodora campfire experiences, that helped shape their lives today and are inspiring their plans for the future. In addition, Shyamli and Robert Milam, were presented with the Spirit of Christodora Award, for their support of the organization's mission to create educational opportunities for students that inspire a passion for the outdoors. |

| Highlights of the lively auction included: winter getaways, sports tickets and VIP tickets to some of New York's most popular, taped, shows. Guests also made donations to fund field trips from public schools to Christodora's wilderness camp; scholarships for students in the summer; and supplies for the students' ecology studies, such as microscopes, sleeping bags and waders. Following the dinner and auction, the Christodora Jr. Committee kept the festivities going by hosting an after party, with over 100 young supporters in the ornate Art Deco room of the Essex House. The party featured its own fundraising raffle, light hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, and live tunes by DJs Bayside and Discogo that had the crowd dancing the night away. |

| Christodora works with New York's less-privileged, urban youth to develop environmental awareness, leadership skills and academic success through stimulating educational and outdoor programs. The organization reaches 2,000 mixed-income students each year, in the sixth through the twelfth grades - three-quarters of whom have never been outside of their city walls before. Programs take place during and after school in partnership with the New York City's parks, museums, and schools. In addition, the organization's wilderness programs take the students out of the city, on weekends and during school vacations, to the Manice Education Center in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts. Since its founding in 1897, Christodora's programs have grown exponentially since its modest beginnings, where the organization sponsored social and cultural activities, such as George Gershwin's first public concert in 1914. |

| The French Heritage Society (FHS) hosted its Annual Fall Gala Dinner Dance at the Metropolitan Club on Wednesday, November 13th. The fete celebrated Provence and Marseille in honor of their being named the 2013 European Capital of Culture. The glamorous black tie affair was held under the gracious patronage of His Excellency François Delattre, Ambassador of France to the U.S., The Honorable Bertrand Lortholary and Mrs. Laurence Mezin, Consul Generals of France in New York, and Antonin and Berenice Baudry, Cultural Counselors of the French Embassy. The night featured cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, a seated dinner, dancing and live musical entertainment by The Bob Hardwick Sound. Proceeds from the event will help FHS grants to restore French architectural gems and to educate students, young professionals and the general public about these historic treasures. |

A slew of lovely ladies, including Barbara Regna, Alessandra Emanuel, and Kiera Rumbugh, whose brother Cole Rumbough performed later in the evening, tried on the over a million dollars worth of Sintessi jewels by designer Michel Piranesi, who had donated a pair of 18 carat white gold earrings for the auction. Following the sit down dinner and live auction, guests then kicked up their heels to celebrate all things French. |

| French Heritage Society was founded in 1982 as a two way street for Americans and French to share their love of historic architecture. FHS has contributed to over 500 restoration grants and helped secure over $19 million dollars for historic monuments, buildings and gardens in every department in France and to properties in the United States that reflect France¹s historic influence. FHS has intervened after numerous natural disasters such as the 1999 storms in France and Hurricanes Hugo and Katrina in the U.S. FHS also organizes unique student internship opportunities in both countries and offers enriching cultural trips in France and the U.S. for its members. | Joan's Legacy: Uniting Against Lung Cancer (UALC) started its second decade of funding innovative lung cancer research by raising over $1.35 million at its annual "Strolling Supper with Blues and News" on Wednesday, November 13th. More than 700 guests gathered at Gotham Hall in Manhattan to celebrate the gala's 11th year and support the efforts of the partners and doctors who have tirelessly raised awareness and pursued a cure for the nation's deadliest cancer. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed a silent auction packed with luxury items and once-in-a-lifetime experiences, a rousing performance by Grammy award winning blues artist Delbert McClinton, and savory food and cocktails. Host Brian Williams of NBC and emcee Bill Ritter of WABC led the guests through the evening. |
