The Dubin Breast Center of The Tisch Cancer Institute at the Mount Sinai Health System held its third annual benefit on Monday, December 9th at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel at Columbus Circle. The evening, for the first time sponsored by Harry Winston, Inc., honored Sonia Jones and Ramon E. Parsons, MD, PhD. On Tuesday, December 10th, New Yorkers For Children (NYFC) and La Perla hosted a holiday cocktail event to benefit youth in foster care at La Perla's Madison Avenue flagship. The Decorators Club's members, colleagues and industry friends gathered last week at the Colony Club for their annual holiday fundraiser to benefit the DC Education Fund. Founded in 1914, The Decorators Club is America's oldest women's organization dedicated to the interior design profession. The membership includes women in all areas of the field of decorative arts who are committed to furthering interior design education through a variety of programs. The DC Education Fund Inc. was established in 1960 and through its Holiday Celebration and lecture series has raised funds to support an annual portfolio competition for six New York colleges that offer BFA programs in Interior Design. Monetary Grants are awarded to the winners of this competition. Next year, the Decorator Club will celebrate its 100th Anniversary at the Museum of the City of New York. The 4th Annual Santa Project Party & Auction benefiting United Cerebral Palsy of New York City (UCP of NYC), one of the largest disability nonprofit organizations in the U.S., was held Tuesday Dec. 3rd at Bocca di Bacco in Chelsea. Beyond the core programs and services UCP of NYC delivers year round, proceeds from the Santa Project Party & Auction help fund special needs equipment requests and purchase holiday gift cards for children with disabilities in UCP of NYC’s programs. |
The Santa Project Party & Auction was co-hosted by Tamsen Fadal, Emmy-winning anchor of PIX 11 News, and Camilla Barungi, model/entrepreneur of “Project Runway” fame. This marks the fourth consecutive year Camilla Barungi has hosted the Santa Project Party. Scott Stanford, Emmy-winning PIX 11 News co-anchor, and Isiah Whitlock, Jr., new star of HBO series “Veep,” co-chaired the fundraiser.
