| On Wednesday, December 4, 2013, the Young New Yorkers for the Philharmonic gathered for their annual Winter Benefit. Over 200 guests attended and $80,000 was raised for the Philharmonic. The evening began with a cocktail reception at Badgley Mischka and concluded with dinner and dancing at Doubles. NY Philharmonic Executive Director attended cocktails along with designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka. New York Philharmonic Chairman Gary Parr and Stephanie Sirota, Board Member and Chairman of the Benefit Committee, welcomed guests and introduced Philharmonic musicians Pascual Martínez Forteza and Yoobin Son who gave a festive chamber performance. Benefit Committee Chairmen for the event were Jason and Mary Dillow, Christopher George, Sarah Jane and Trevor Gibbons, Laura and Ben Harris, Sandra L. Kozlowski, Justin R. | On a cold New York evening in December, UN Women for Peace hosted a discussion on the global need to end violence against women at a private club on the Upper East Side. The event featured opening remarks by Mrs. Ban Soon-taek, wife of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Patron of UN Women For Peace. Mrs. Ban Soon-taek delivered a passionate plea for the rights’ of women saying, “violence against women is a violation of human rights. It may be universal, but it is not inevitable. It can be stopped.” The panel was moderated by Fox News’ Uma Pemmaraj, which included three remarkable women Cindy Dyer (Vice President of Human Rights at Vital Voices), Aldijana Sisic (UN Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women) and Manda Zand Ervin (Alliance of Iranian Women). Ms. Ervin shocked to the room when she told the 90 guests that the “Islamic Council had legalizing pedophilia that afternoon. Men can now legally marry their adopted daughters. Iran is now a gender-apartheid state.” |

| UN Women for Peace’s chairwoman, Muna Rihani al Nasser, announced the organization’s plans to host their second annual March in March in celebration of International Women’s Day, which will be at the United Nations Headquarters on Friday March 7, 2014. UN Women for Peace will host over 500 attendees at a private luncheon and public march and rally to raise further awareness to end violence against women. Luncheon guests will join hundreds of supporters inside the United Nations Headquarters’ Gates and marching through the UN Park to Dag Hammarskjold Park. |

Mrs. Ban Soon-taek aims at promoting and advancing the goals of UN agencies whose missions are to provide opportunities for women through social, cultural, educational and empowerment programs while partaking in a global peace building process. UN Women for Peace is focused on supporting and funding UN humanitarian programs for women in developing countries and countries in conflict. Since its inception, UN Women for Peace has sponsored scholarships to benefit underprivileged women to study at the University for Peace. |

| UN Women for Peace is also proud to support the UNWomen Trust Fund to End Violence against Women. The Trust Fund, established by the UN General Assembly in 1996, assists efforts to prevent violence against women and girls, provides services to those affected by violence and strengthens the implementation of laws and policies on violence against women and girls. The Trust Fund is particularly concerned with ending violence against women in countries of conflict, post-conflict and transitional settings. The Trust Fund also invests, through its partners, in long-term solutions for a world free of violence. UN Women for Peace’s contributions to the Trust Fund directly fund these efforts. |

Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights honored Muhammad Yunus, Niclas Matseke and John Boyer at the 2013 Ripple of Hope Awards Dinner at the New York Hilton Midtown. The event welcomed nearly 1,000 guests, and was emceed by Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert. The Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award lauds leaders of the international business, entertainment, and activist communities who demonstrate commitment to social change. Past honorees including President Bill Clinton, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Bono, George Clooney and Vice President Al Gore reflect Robert Kennedy's passion for equality, justice, basic human rights, and his belief that we all must strive to "make gentle the life of this world." |

| The Preservation League of New York State held its 22nd annual Pillar of New York Awards Gala at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. Some 200 guests celebrated the successes of honorees Betsy Barlow Rogers and the United Nations and Secretary-General Bank Ki-moon. The dinner and awards held on a beautiful autumn evening included cocktails on the East Terrace with breathtaking views of the East River, Roosevelt Island and the Long Island City waterfront and tours of the recently restored Council chambers. The Preservation League, celebrating its 40th Anniversary, is dedicated to the protection of New York State's diverse and rich heritage of historic buildings and scenic landscapes. |

Pajama Program founder Genevieve Piturro explained to the guests that the non-profit has announced a campaign to collect 1 million new pajamas, 1 million new books and the resources to deliver them to children in need by Dec 31, 2015. |

| Pajama Program provides new pajamas and new books to children in need, many of whom are waiting and hoping to be adopted. These children live in various situations including group homes, shelters and temporary housing facilities and are shuffled often from one place to another. Many of them have been abandoned, abused or neglected. Most of these children have never enjoyed the simple comfort of having a mother or father tuck them in at bedtime with warm, clean pajamas and a bedtime story. |
