| The Young Professionals Committee (YPC) of the Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen® kicked off their fundraising for the Komen Greater NYC Race for the Cure with a rollicking reception for more than 300 at The Rink Bar at Rockefeller Center on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. Guests had access to an open premium bar and delicious hors d’oeuvres and danced to music by crowd favorite DJ Jason Fioto. Guests were also able to register for the YPC Race team and one lucky guest won a magnum of Champagne for registering at the event. |

| The reception served to raise breast cancer awareness among this group of rising professionals and entrepreneurs and raised funds to help underwrite grants for breast cancer research to find the cures and for local breast health screening, treatment, education and support service programs here in the greater New York City metropolitan area. |

| The Young Professionals Committee is made up of up-and-coming executives and professionals who are engaging a new generation in the culture of philanthropy through the fight against breast cancer. | This past Wednesday at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (AFIPO) hosted an evening of celebration, honoring Hans Zimmer with the Lifetime Achievement Award. AFIPO Music Director Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra performed a program of legendary film score favorites composed by Mr. Zimmer. Remarks were made by Event Chairs Lynn Harris and Matti Leshem, and actor Armie Hammer, honoring the music legend. Following the awards ceremony and concert, guests enjoyed cocktails and dinner provided by Wolfgang Puck. |

| Late last month, 200 guests raised nearly $200,000 for capital improvements at inner-city elementary Catholic schools during Inner-City Scholarship Fund's 14th annual Project YESS Reception at the Top of the Rock observation deck at Rockefeller Center. Schools that will receive improvements are supported by Inner-City Scholarship Fund, the city's leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing tuition assistance for low-income students attending inner-city Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of New York. Along with Tim Muccia, Project YESS Co-Chair and Inner-City Trustee, His Eminence, Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, addressed the hundreds of guests, thanking them for their continued support. |

| The evening's funds were raised from an extensive raffle and silent auction that included luxury box seats at Yankee Stadium, a behind-the-scenes tour of Radio City Music Hall and orchestra tickets to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular featuring the Rockettes; and a travel package including a round of golf at Liberty National Golf Course followed by at Mets game in the private Delta 360 Club. The top item of the night was a Jets package including on field access, four club seats to the game and a signed photograph of the legendary Joe Namath which went for $4,200. |

| This year 26 schools have been chosen for grant awards. Proceeds from the event will go towards updating security systems at St. Brendan School and Santa Maria School in the Bronx and Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Manhattan and will benefit Project YESS and their grants for inner-city elementary schools within the Archdiocese of New York in need of capital improvements and repairs. The repairs range from installing improved lighting, to fixing broken windows and upgrading security systems. The grants ensure that the schools can provide a safe, nurturing environment for students as well as to help increase enrollment. Since 1998 Project YESS has provided over $4.2 million to schools for over 250 projects. Inner-City Scholarship Fund was founded in 1971 by the late Terence Cardinal Cooke and a group of prominent executives of many religious beliefs. Inner-City provides tuition assistance to over 7,500 students (92% minority and 33% non-Catholic) in 79 inner-city Catholic schools in Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island. An astonishing 98% percent of seniors attending inner-city Catholic high schools graduate, and 96% pursue college at some of the finest universities in the nation. |

The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation launched “Ladies Who Lunch for A Cure” at a private East Side landmark residence owned by Dena K. Weiner and David Rozenholc. The event honored Nicole Miller and showcased her Spring/Summer 2014 collection before a private audience, and benefited the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation. Guests in attendance included fashion designer Nicole Miller, Samuel Waxman, Marion Waxman, Ramona Singer, Dena Weiner, Jean Shafiroff, Pamela Morgan, Adrienne Kantor, Jessica Cohen and Maria Fishel, among others.
The luncheon was the first event of its kind to raise funding for the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation. “We are honored that Nicole Miller accepted our invitation to be the first celebrated fashion designer to launch the event. Not only will her support draw attention to our cause, it will raise the much needed funding for our cancer research programs,” said Dr. Samuel Waxman, Founder and CEO of the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation. “Support for charities and foundations has been dramatically cut by the Federal Government. Therefore it has been left to philanthropic organizations to find private resources and creative ways to sustain the work of their institutions,” points out Dr. Waxman. “We anticipate ‘Ladies Who Lunch for a Cure’ will be one of many such events in the coming years to augment the funding efforts,” he adds. A raffle featuring items such as dinner at Aretzky’s Patroon, Arlotta Cashmere robe and slippers, Botkier Handbag, Brooks Brothers leather attaché, Dolce & Gabbana clutch from Collette, award-winning wines from Palm Bay and a unique necklace from Marlene Brown Fine Jewelry provided additional excitement to the event. The event’s contemporary luncheon was catered by renowned Restaurant Associates. |

| Edeyo Foundation co-founders Unik Ernest and Michael Pradieu welcomed over 200 supporters to the 3rd Annual Edeyo Gives Hope Ball at the Liberty Theater on Wednesday, July 16th. The gala, hosted by Stephen Baldwin and sponsored by Uptown Magazine, Jet Blue, Soniq Chips and LDV Hospitality, raised funds to help the future of children in Haiti by rebuilding schools and providing students with a safe learning environment, as well as healthy food and water on a daily basis. Mr. Baldwin presented the night's honorees Bill Lerner founder of Billy4Kids with the Humanitarian Award, which was accepted by co-founder Alexson Roy and youth ambassador and model, Morgan O’ Connor. Jordan Lorrius received the Hope Award, Modo Yoga NYC’s Rebecca Foon with the Empowerment Award and Sanford Rubenstein received the Ambassador Award. |

| The party kicked off with a cocktail reception and silent auction with guests including Nicole DiCocco, Billy Morrissey, Maggie Norris and Isiah Whitlock, Jr. Following the reception, attendees were treated to an award ceremony, seated dinner and a live auction with items including courtside seats to the U.S. Open, a trip to Haiti, and tickets and a meet and greet with Julia Stiles at her latest play “Phoenix.” Closing the special event was a live performance by Grammy Award winners Fabrizio Sotti and Melanie Fiona and DJ sets by Donna D’Cruz and Nick Cohen. |

| In June 2007, Unik Ernest decided to utilize his birthday to give back. In lieu of gifts, he encouraged guests to dig into their pockets and donate towards a greater cause. This year marked his Edeyo Foundation’s 7th Anniversary and keeping with tradition, this birthday party for both Edeyo and Unik Ernest, carried the same ritual.
