Cocktails at Sunset

The sun sets on Beechnut Hill Farm for Acria's Cocktails at Sunset.
This past Saturday in Water Mill at the Beechnut Hill Farm,Ross Bleckner, Jeffrey Collé, Deborah Hughes, David Kleinberg, Isabel Rattazzi, and Stewart Shining hosted ACRIA's annual Cocktails at Sunset. The evening was presented by David Yurman, with a dinner and auction following cocktails.

Last Friday late afternoon in East Hampton, Carol Roaman hosted a private cocktail reception at her home for the New York Stem Cell Foundation’s annual summer benefit.

NYSCF CEO Susan L. Solomon shared an update with all the guests and supporters on the latest developments in stem cell research.
The host committee included: Margo and Robert Alexander,  Marilyn and Jan Breslow, Susan Lasker Brody, Debbie and Alan Cohen, Jodie and John Eastman, Eileen and Richard Ekstract, Pam and Peter Flaherty, Gail and Roy Geronemus, MD, April Gornik, Dorothy Lichtenstein, Rebecca Mai and David Mitnick, Alice Shure, Susan L. Solomon and Paul Goldberger.

Also, the day before on July 17th, Ms. Solomon and NYSCF scientist Scott Noggle, PhD spoke at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons about NYSCF's work to find better treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's disease.

Last Saturday in Bridgehampton, the Bridgehampton Polo Club hosted its opening day of the season at the Two Trees Farm. The event was hosted by Town & Country Magazine, with sponsors Lancome Paris, Escada and Jet Edge.

The polo matches have been a Hamptons staple for 18 years. Among those attending were Michael Clinton, President of Hearst Publications, along with Town & CountryPublisher Jennifer Levene Bruno, who conducted the trophy presentations at the end of the match between Bash Kazi’s KIG and Peter Brant’s victorious White Birch.

Guests began arriving at 2:30 p.m., and the match began at 4 p.m., following a VIP tent reception catered by Timeless Hospitality Group and exclusive wines from the Spire Collection. Xavier Vey, President of Lancome conducted the ball toss.

Sag Harbor's Doppio Restaurant provided catering for the private, field-side 10 x 10 tailgate tents that were available for purchase. A food truck from North Fork Table & Inn was also available on the grounds. Guests were happy to receive chic beach towels by Escada and Lancome Absolue products and information.

Also last weekend in East Hampton, “That Girl” herself,  Marlo Thomas, opened in a new comedy by Joe DiPietro,“Clever Little Lies” at Guild Hall. “She simply slays audiences in this hilarious plays,” Liz Smith reported in her column Monday morning on the NYSD.

Directed by David Saint, it’s a comedy about being unfaithful in marriage (unheard of!!) which co-stars Greg Mullavey and Jim Stanek and Kate Wetherhead. The show runs through August 3rd.
